DESCRIPTION:The upcoming TRIUMF Summer Institute (TSI 2020) on Quantum Com
 puting and Machine Learning for Science and Technology\, will be held at T
 RIUMF in Vancouver\, BC\, Canada from August 3rd to August 14th 2020. The 
 school is organized by TRIUMF\, Germany’s Helmholtz Association\, Simon 
 Fraser University\, the University of British Columbia\, and the Universit
 y of Victoria.\n\nThe school is aimed at equipping graduate students in qu
 antitative disciplines with applicable skills in machine learning and intr
 oducing them to the possibilities in quantum computing and quantum machine
  learning.\n\nStudents will experience an overview of gate model quantum c
 omputing\, a survey of classical machine learning topics including deep le
 arning\, and explore what is being done in the early stages of quantum mac
 hine learning research. The students will also become familiar with altern
 ative quantum computing models and modern approaches to quantum computing 
 implementations. TSI 2020 emphasizes a hands-on approach\, with large bloc
 ks of time dedicated to tutorials. The school will end with a two-day hack
 athon where students will showcase their knowledge applied to a practical 
 problem.\n\nApplications for TSI 2020 will be accepted from March 9 until 
 April 19th. Successful applicants will be informed and invited to complete
