About Vancouver:
The city of Vancouver is located on the mainland of North America, in the southwest corner of British Columbia, which is the westernmost of Canada's ten provinces. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Coastal range mountains, providing plenty outdoor activities, winter and summer. It is being said Vancouver is the only major city where you can go skiing and take a dip in the ocean on the very same day (without freezing too much). Having hosted the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, it offers rich cultural diversity, spectacular scenery, world-class meeting facilities and a wealth of amenities. Conference venues, accommodation, restaurants, theatres, and recreational opportunities are readily available in this beautiful Pacific Coast location.
Weather:
The weather in Vancouver at the end of May (early June) is usually quite mild, with expected highs of 20 C (61 F) and lows of 12 C (54 F). While the days can be warm, the nights can be cold (I sweater might be a good thing to bring along). It also important to note that the Pacific Northwest territories where Vancouver is located are home to of the biggest rain forest on the planet. Therefore, you can always expect rain in Vancouver any time of the year. Make sure to pack a small umbrella or a good rain jacket with you.
Electrical:
Please note that Vancouver has a 120 V electrical voltage system. The wall socket and plug (shown in the image below) have a classic two flat parallel prongs and one with a grounding pin. If you are traveling from outside of north america, please make sure to bring an adequate adaptor for your electronics.
