The Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is the main airport located in the south of the city.
Options for how to get to downtown Vancouver:

Set rate from the airport to downtown $46CAD - Public transportation: Canada Line from airport to Waterfront Station;
Waterfront Station is the terminus.

TransLink takes just under 30 minutes from the airport to Waterfront. You can buy a CompassCard or a single use ticket at any SkyTrain station, or pay on all SkyTrains and buses with most contactless payment cards, or mobile wallet. Exact change can be used on buses only.
Note there is an additional $5 charge added to most trips that start at the YVR Airport, Sea Island Centre, and Templeton Canada Line stations.
