TRAVEL INFORMATION
If you are travelling from abroad and are not a Candian Citizen or Permanent Resident, here is some important information for your visit.
You need a letter of invitation written by our HR department. You may be asked to show this at the border if the border officer would like to see proof of what you are coming to TRIUMF for. Please select the appropriate box in the registration form so that we can provide a letter. This letter needs to include the dates at which you will be at TRIUMF for the conference
Additionally, depending on your citizenship, you may have further requirements (e.g. a visa) to enter Canada:

- TRIUMF is unable to help with the visa application process. However you likely need the invitation letter to apply for the visa so please register as early as possible.
TRANSPORTATION
The Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is the main airport located in the south of the city. Public transportation with TransLink takes about 45 minutes from the airport to TRIUMF. You can buy a CompassCard or a single use ticket at any SkyTrain station, or pay on all SkyTrains and buses with most contactless payment cards, or mobile wallet. Exact change can be used on buses only.
Airport to TRIUMF by public transportation
Take the Canada Line SkyTrain (direction Waterfront) and then switch at Langara-49th Avenue Station (5 stops) to the 49 bus (direction UBC), getting off at Wesbrook Mall At Triumf Centre (23 stops) for the most direct route to TRIUMF.
You can also take the Canada Line SkyTrain (direction Waterfront) and then switch at Oakridge-41st Avenue (6 stops) to the R4 RapidBus (direction UBC), getting off at EB W 16 AVE NS Wesbrook Mall (22 stops). This will drop you off north of TRIUMF, it is a 15 minute walk south along Wesbrook Mall, through Wesbrook village, to reach TRIUMF.
Note there is an additional $5 charge added to most trips that start at the YVR Airport, Sea Island Centre, and Templeton Canada Line stations.
TRIUMF House to TRIUMF
To get from the TRIUMF House to TRIUMF, it is either a 24 minute walk south along Wesbrook Mall, or an 8 minute bus on the 49 bus (direction Metrotown Station) from SB Wesbrook Mall @ Thunderbird Blvd to SB Wesbrook Mall At Triumf Centre (3 stops).
